Self-Love

My thought process while making this series:

I needed to get this out on paper, out of my system to start this conversation. Working on this project, it has become easier for me to talk about depression and how it affects me. I don’t have all of the answers, but I am ready to start asking questions. This is just my first step.

. In this series, I displayed the thoughts that have gone through my head because of my depression. I have captured my desire to be in those sunset daydreams where things feel calm. I photographed how there are days where it feels like I’m falling apart. I also burned the notebook that held all these dark thoughts. That felt great and I definitely recommend you try it.

From working on this project, I know that if you’re struggling with depression and thoughts of suicide, don’t hide that part of yourself for anyone else’s comfort. Don’t be afraid to seek medical help. Don’t wait for tomorrow.
